The SkinHealix Difference

A proprietary combination of amino acids called Cutisal-2 provides the anti-microbial activity of a 4% benzyl peroxide formula without any of the common side effects. Additional botanicals amplify the anti-microbial effects of the cleanser maximizing the prevention of acne as well as slowing sebum production, restoring skin coloration, and accelerating the healing of damaged skin.

How To Use

Gently lather with cold water to cleanse face twice daily. Avoid the eye area. Follow with Clarifying Acne Treatment.

Key Ingredients & Their Functions

  • Cutisal-2: At the core of the cleanser, this mixture of amino acids has the anti-microbial activity equivalent to 4% benzyl peroxide, without any side effects. It allows SkinHealix to satisfy the FDA monograph for acne formulations with the lowest concentration of benzyl peroxide (0.1%).
  • Benzoyl peroxide: Benzoyl peroxide is endorsed by the American Academy of Dermatology for its ability to rapidly destroy P. acne bacteria as well as yeast and other organisms. Benzoyl forces peroxide into the follicle where its released in the form of oxygen. Since P. acne bacteria does not survive in Oxygen, rapid depopulation occurs. Benefit of benzoyl peroxide over oral and topical antibiotics is that bacteria does not develop resistance to it.
  • Salicylic acid: Salicylic acid is an exfoliant ingredient that is chemically like aspirin. Like aspirin, salicylic acid can remove redness and inflammation as it opens pores to resolve and prevent lesions. As it is oil soluble, it can easily penetrate the skin and unclog pores. Salicylic acid increases cell turnover. This makes the skin grow faster, opening-up pores. It increases collagen production, filling in indentations in the skin and making it less “floppy.” It removes discoloration from the skin and spots after acne treatment.
  • Mahanimba extract, ivy neem and red wine: These supplement Cutisal-2’s antimicrobial activity. Mahanimba extract has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities as well. Due to its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, applying red wine topically on the face clears the pores, fights acne and prevents future breakouts. It is packed with antioxidants like flavonoid, resveratrol and tannin which help fight aging by restoring collagen and elastic fibers. Red wine also contains polyphenols which bring a glow on the face.
  • Cypress plant extract: Cypress essential oil is great for acne because it provides relief from the overactive sebum glands that make our skin oily and prone to blemishes. The antiseptic and astringent properties of cypress control and speed up healing time. Its antimicrobial property helps fight the acne causing bacteria. There are more popular essential oils for acne, but one thing that separates cypress against its acne-fighting counterparts is that it's non-irritant, non-sensitizer, and non-phototoxic, which means you don't have to worry about sun exposure.
  • RNA nucleotide: Nucleotides are necessary to support a high turnover rate for cell division and repair. It improves skin elasticity and thereby prevents the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Elder Plant Extract: Elderberries provide a number of different flavonoids, including quercetin, rutoside, hesperidin and anthocyanins (five times greater the amount found in blueberries). These natural antioxidant superstars are responsible for assisting in the removal of damaging free radicals from our bodies. They are anti-bacterial, anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory. Research suggests that bioflavonoids prevent and reverse wrinkles and inhibit the development and reduce the appearance of age spots (thanks to the flavonoid hesperidin). Quercetin increases the production of collagen and thereby helps achieve timeless skin! These flavonoids are joined by substantial amounts of Vitamins A, B6, E and C, and along with the additional polyphenols and carotenoids present, elderberry has secured its spot as a healing, anti-aging and nutritional powerhouse.
  • Nettle Leaf Extract and myrrh extract: Nettle Leaves and myrrh extract are excellent skin tonic as they gently treat acne and blemishes without leaving scars and blemishes behind. These anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial extracts are also strong antioxidants as they are rich in Vitamins A, B, C, D and K. Myrrh extract has been used since the era of Egyptians to get a smooth healthy-looking skin.
  • Watercress Extract: Watercress is a natural anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anti- bacterial element. It helps in alleviating various kinds of infectious skin inflammatory conditions, including acne and rosacea. Along with easing the inflammation and fading out the redness, it cleanses the affected area to prevent further infection. Rich in Vitamin A and C, it prevents the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Moreover, the soothing and cooling nature of watercress enables it to endow relief from itching and burning skin conditions, such as eczema.
  • Rosehips: Another remedy used by ancient Egyptians, rosehip oil comes from the seeds of a special variety of rose, Rosa aff. rubiginosa or Rosa moschata, which is the fruit left behind after a rose has flowered and dropped its petals. It is full of vitamins (Vitamin E, C and D), antioxidants (Beta carotene) and essential fatty acids (oleic, palmitic, linoleic and gamma linolenic acid) that help reduce dark spots, scars, fine lines and hydrate dry and itchy skin. Rosehip oil contains polyunsaturated fatty acids (Vitamin F), also known as an essential fatty acid (EFA). When absorbed through the skin, these fatty acids are converted to prostaglandins (PGE), which are involved in cellular membrane and tissue regeneration.
