Key Ingredients & Their Functions

  • Vitamins: Vitamin C promotes collagen renewal, fades skin blemishes, moderates inflammatory conditions, reduces external damages to skin, and protects the skin from ultraviolet light. Vitamin C also forms an anti-oxidant umbrella together with Vitamins E.
  • Hyaluronic acid: A naturally occurring polysaccharide, hyaluronic acid can absorb 1000 times its weight water and deliver it to the skin. However, our ability to produce hyaluronic acid decreases with age and must be supplemented in skin care products. It revitalizes skin’s outer layers so they look and feel softer, smoother, and, glowingly hydrated to instantly improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Tocopheryl Linoleate: Tocopheryl linoleate is an ester of tocopherol and linoleic acid. Tocopherol or Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin. This versatile vitamin acts as a natural skin conditioning agent and helps to maintain the skin’s oil balance. It also serves as a natural antioxidant and helps to protect the skin from ultra violet light, pollution and many other harmful elements. Consequently, it keeps wrinkles at bay, can be effective at preventing unsightly stretch marks and reduce the appearance of age spots. Linoleic acid is a polyunsaturated omega 6 fatty acid. Though our epidermis is highly active in lipid production, it cannot synthesize linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid and these must be supplemented by diet or topical application. When applied topically, it contributes to the formation of ceramides on the skin’s surface, maintaining epidermal barrier function and hydration to prevent age-related drying and flaking. In addition, linoleic acid is a precursor for the synthesis of gamma-linolenic acid, which provides welcome relief from inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and acne.
  • Arbutin: Arbutin is glucosylated hydroquinone, derived from the leaves of fruits such as bearberry, pear and cranberry. It is an excellent skin lightening agent as it releases hydroquinone which competitively inhibit the melanin synthesizing enzyme tyrosinase. It thereby reduces age related spots and hyper-pigmentation. The advantage of arbutin over other skin lightening agents is that it releases hydroquinone slowly by hydrolysis and therefore it is less irritating.
  • Hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans: These bind water efficiently and increase depth hydration, improving the elasticity and firmness of the skin. They are easily accepted into the skin because of their positive charge, and can moisturize the skin, as well as improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily minimizing the depth of wrinkles on skin.
  • Hydrolyzed collagen: Hydrolyzed collagen consists of water-soluble peptides of various molecular weights which are rich in the amino acids found in collagen, including glycine, L- proline and L-hydroxyproline. It enhances the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.
  • Mt. Lily Extract: It is a natural moisturizer which hydrates the skin and at the same time balances its natural oil content.
